Painter Debra Van Tuinen at Waterstreet Café

by Alec Clayton for OLY ARTS

Debra Van Tuinen will be showing new paintings and some older work at Waterstreet CafĂ© for Arts Walk. Her prints combine watercolor monotypes and solar etching plates. She’s been exhibited by Oehme Graphics at the Washington D.C., Boston, New York City and Minneapolis Print Fairs; by Goodwin Fine Art in Denver; Petley Jones in Vancouver, British Columbia and Butters Gallery in Portland, Oregon. Van Tuinen was selected for Art in Embassy 2016 and will be in the Miami Basel Red Dot show.

Her work in acrylic, oil, encaustic (pigments with hot wax) and various print media is atmospheric and evocative of land, sea and sky. It’s been compared to that of Mark Rothko and James McNeil Whistler.
