Weekend Preview: June 2, 2017

WEEKEND PREVIEW is your weekly guide to events in Thurston County. This week promises even more folk, bluegrass and fiddling fun than the last as Olympia gears up for Steamboat Stringband Jamboree. Let’s not forget the Olympia Comics Festival, either, which promises a weekend packed with a comics expo, stage show and author signings. We hope you’re ready for some fun, Olympia!

Music 

Delight in the knee-slapping sounds of fiddler Andrew Finn Magill at Traditions Café and World Folk Art.

Dance until the music stops at the monthly, country music and dance concert by The County Four at South Union Grange.

Revel in the folksy sounds of live music around the campfire at Steamboat Stringband Jamboree at Prosperity Grange.

Leave things up to chance at the improv comedy show There Are Stories at The Meeting Place at Priest Point.

Casey Bruce and Frank Hussey of Danger Room

Lose yourself in the world of comic books at Olympia Comics Festival, presented by Danger Room and featuring a cartoonists’ expo at the Olympia Center, guests-of-honor book signings at Danger Room, OCF Preview Night at the Olympia Timberland Library and a stage show at Capitol Theater.
