Tuesday, July 5 marks the opening of South Puget Sound Community College’s 2016 Juried Exhibition, with opening reception and awards presentation July 7. The Southwest Washington Juried Exhibition is organized by the college’s gallery, located in the Kenneth J Minnaert Center for the Arts. Artists who reside in Clark, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Pierce, Skamania, Thurston, or Wahkiakum counties were invited to submit in any medium. The purchase award runs as high as $1500. This year’s juror is Esther Luttikhuizen, co-founder of Esther Claypool Gallery, Seattle, in 1998. Artists have the option of selling their work, and The Gallery retains a 25 percent commission on all sales.
