Special deals are offered to visitors 55 years of age or older. From 5:30-9:30 p.m., check out the Lakefair Car Show near Marathon Park, 1500 Jefferson St. SE, Olympia. Today’s hunka hunk of a special guest is Elvis impersonator Danny Vernon (1 p.m.). Watch for senior giveaways, a cakewalk and a raffle.

Saturday, July 16, noon – 11 p.m., Kids’ Day
The Olympia Lakefair Run half-marathon and Trials Legacy marathon hit the Chehalis Western Trail at 7 a.m., followed by 8K and 3K races at 8 a.m. The volleyball tournament gets underway at 9:15 a.m., then continues at the same time Sunday. The four hours after noon bring activities geared toward Lakefair’s youngest visitors, followed by the Grand Parade along Capitol Way (4:45-7 p.m.).

The fair’s grand finale is a magnificent fireworks display visible for miles in every direction. The pyrotechnics begin after sundown at 9:01 p.m., fired from the southeastern edge of Capitol Lake.
