Portland singer-songwriter Nate Botsford has been making music since he was a kid crafting his own guitar from a popcorn box. He made it big in 2015 with a win at the national songwriting competition Project Aloft Star before scoring the help of producer Billy Mann (Cher, Celine Dion, Pink) on the song “This Is Your Moment” and launching a 25-city, 2016 tour. Botsford describes his songs as “bluegrass-country-rock with a little bit of pop in there” (KPTV), and his sound has a raw guitar vibe that gives his lyrics a down-home honesty. He cites Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and Van Morrison — plus two piano-playing grandfathers — as musical influences. He comes to Olympia after a summer tour of Oregon and Seattle’s CenturyLink Field.
