Musical Family Adventure
The Harmonica Pocket is a family-friendly band from Port Townsend, Washington, that comes to Lacey in Tune as part of the Timberland Regional Library’s summer-reading program. Songwriter Keeth Monta Apgar leads the group with thick, jazz chord progressions and thoughtful, storytelling lyrics merged into songs that entrance audiences young and old.
The band around Apgar is a rotating group, but regular musicians who participate in Harmonica Pocket include Apgar on vocals, guitar, ukulele and harmonica; PK on stand-up bass; Jon Ryser on alto saxophone and Nala Walla, providing vocal harmony (along with Hula-Hoop jumping).
The group has previously performed in festivals, libraries and theaters nationally and internationally. The Harmonica Pocket’s current, groovy-green, family album Sundrops won a “Parents’ Choice” gold award.
