Instead of music or acting, this evening focuses on creatures of all sizes and types – including the most creepy-crawly of all, snakes and spiders. “Creature Teachers” is a dynamic duo, composed of animal lovers Shanti Kriens and Amanda LeBlanc. Kriens and LeBlanc take creatures of all sizes directly into classrooms and playgrounds to allow children to learn about their habitats and history. This evening event should help kids and adults alike to learn factual information about a variety of creatures – from boa constrictors to tarantulas, from lizards to alligators – as well as get up close and personal with the creatures by holding and touching a variety of the rare animals. The “Creature Teachers” event is part of Summer Reading, a Timberland Regional Library districtwide program.
