“I’m most excited for the speaking engagements,” says Waldon. “I really, really enjoy public speaking and meeting new people and making new connections.” While speaking to such nonprofit organizations as Zonta Club of Olympia, Waldon says she enjoys getting to know club members better and learning how each organization participates in the community. In addition to speaking engagements, she enjoys service opportunities, including volunteering for local nonprofit Little Red Schoolhouse, assembling backpacks for school children, spending time at Olympia Senior Center and face-painting at Hands On Children’s Museum.
“Being on the court,” Waldon says, gave her “a sense that wow, I could do anything that I really set my mind to.” She plans to attend a four-year university after graduation and study communications and business management.
