DESCRIPTION:By The People: Traditions in Dialogue— Indigenous Pacific Northwest Weaving\nSunday\, July 26\, 2026\, 2:00 PM\nWashington State History Museum\nFREE with registration\nJoin us for a conversation with six Indigenous weavers from across the Pacific Northwest\, exploring the art of weaving and its cultural significance.\n\nWeaving is a foundational art form among Indigenous communities in the Pacific Northwest\, both connecting tribes through shared traditions and expressing each tribe’s distinct practices. This program brings together artists representing multiple Tribal Nations to discuss their work\, materials\, and the meaning of each woven piece.\n\nParticipating weavers are alumni of the Heritage Arts Apprenticeship program\, where they spent a year training with master weavers. The series is presented by humanities councils across the U.S. in collaboration with the Federation of State Humanities Councils and the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage\, and complements the 2026 Smithsonian Folklife Festival.\nThis program is presented by:\n\nHumanities Washington opens minds and bridges divides by creating spaces to explore different perspectives. Founded in 1973\, Humanities Washington is our state’s flagship nonprofit for public humanities programming and the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.\n\n\n\nWACultures’ Heritage Arts Apprenticeship Program supports a master artist and an apprentice in preserving cultural traditions important to their community. WACultures also promotes cultural traditions and tradition bearers through research and publications. SUMMARY:The Lost Weekend – The Photography of May Pang
DESCRIPTION:Few people knew John Lennon as intimately as May Pang.  Pang was Lennon’s lover during the infamous “Lost Weekend” which lasted 18 months during late 1973 through 1975.  During this highly creative time for Lennon\, Pang took candid photos of Lennon in a comfortable\, relaxed environment. A collection of these private photographs will be on display and available for purchase at The Artists Gallery in Olympia\, WA\, 625 Black Lake Blvd SW\, Olympia\, WA (in the Capital Mall) on Tuesday\, August 11 & Wednesday\, August 12. All works are available to purchase – See John Lennon as May saw him!\n\nMay Pang will be in attendance at The Artists Gallery both days\, meeting customers and telling stories behind these amazing limited-edition photographs for sale of John Lennon.
