DESCRIPTION:Parent Toddler Sensory Friendly Dance Class—a gentle\, playful space where you and your little one can move together at your own pace. Using developmental science we foster motor skills\, balance\, mind-body connection\, and self-expression.\n\nThis is an 8 week session running May 4th – June 29th (no class May 25th – Memorial Day)\n\nThis class is run by South Sound Dance Access\, a Thurston County based non-profit on a  mission to make dance accessible to every body and every family. Lights\, sound\, and transitions are adjusted for sensory needs\, with clear structure room for breaks\, and flexibility. Class uses multi sensory learning and props. We use a teaching method called Brain Compatible Dance Education\, informed by developmental and neuroscience.\n\nFill out this form to reserve your spot and share any access needs.\n\nThis class is intended to be whole family fun\, parents/caregivers are expected to participate and model with their dancer 🙃

DESCRIPTION:The Great Bend 2025-26 season concludes with I Was a Stranger\, a poignant program that reflects on mercy\, grief\, and the power of welcome.  \nThe journey begins with Samuel Barber’s Agnus Dei\, a choral setting of his iconic Adagio for Strings\, transforming its familiar ache into a sacred plea for peace and forgiveness.  \nFrom this place of solemn reflection\, Andrey Stolyarov’s Out of the Depths offers a cry for mercy drawn from Psalm 130 – music born of personal loss\, gradually unfolding from sorrow into a luminous expression of hope.  \nThe program culminates with John Muehleisen’s Borders\, a sweeping\, multicultural cantata commissioned by Great Bend for the Chorale’s 2019 Carnegie Hall debut. The American-prize winning work opens with a traditional Salish welcome and weaves together global folk melodies and poetry from Emma Lazarus\, Brian Bilston\, and Alberto Ríos. SUMMARY:Rainbow Reminiscing: 50 Years of Oly Pride
DESCRIPTION:Witness the culmination of over twenty queer oral history interviews\, all focusing on Olympia LGBTQIA2S+ past\, present\, and future. Window Seat Media and Capital City Pride have partnered up to produce the Pride Storytelling Project: a Community Roots initiative to document queer history throughout Thurston County. Members of the 2024-2026 queer cohort will present their various projects that utilize the oral history interviews recorded in 2024 and 2025. Audiences can expect a curriculum presentation from local teacher Lucas Claussen\, a panel discussion led by artist Jonah Barnett\, interactive exhibits created by producer Wild Tiny\, and elder storytelling & original solo piano compositions by Azadi Amaan. Queer organizations from around the county will also be tabling\, offering visitors a chance to engage with their queer communities.
