Down Road 264 Art Exhibition: A Journey of Memories and Healing in a Matrilineal Culture
August 6 at 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm PDT

Down Road 264 Art Exhibition: A Journey of Memories and Healing in a Matrilineal Culture
Mikaela Shafer’s latest solo show, Down Road 264′, is a journey of memories and healing in a matrilineal culture through a collection of mixed media artwork and poetry.
Drawing inspiration from her Hopi culture, where women are revered as the pillars of families and the storytellers that preserve the legacy of generations, Shafer embarks on an introspective artistic journey. Through her collection, she unveils the profound significance of unlocking memories and preserving her own unique narrative.
The opening reception, held on August 6th from 5-7 PM at Bar Francis, located at 110 Franklin St NE, Olympia, WA, promises an immersive experience. Attendees will have the opportunity to indulge in traditional Hopi foods while engaging in discussions about Shafer’s body of work, artistic process, and her personal experiences creating art during her Sou’ Wester Artist residency, where much of this collection was produced. This exhibit can be viewed all month long.
