Eco-Fair and Eco-Art Fair
August 17 at 11:00 am – 4:00 pm PDT
“What on Earth Can YOU Do?” Is the Eco-Fair theme. It is an opportunity for folks to explore ways to take action that will help slow climate change, reduce household costs, and protect local ecosystems. The general public is invited to learn what they can do in their homes, garden, driving, travel, conservation and much more. The fair features speakers and booths from all around the South Sound; EV cars, solar panels, efficient appliances & heat pumps, tax incentives, trees, native plants & bees, water conservation, climate grief & hope, food, and kid’s activities.
This year, in addition to having climate concerned vendors and speakers, an Eco-Art fair is being added. Artists in all media are invited to display nature or climate themed works. Performers who might have some earth-friendly songs to sing or an ecological poem to recite, or even short play or skit to put on can be part of our main stage. The event is free and there is no fee for artists to participate. Artists apply at gsolympia.org/eco-fair
The fair takes place on several acres of land beneath a canopy of large fir trees. You may have seen the Eco-Fair location if you drove by North and Henderson across from Olympia High School last summer. Seventy-five of our trees will be decked out in tree huggers that our children have painted.
