We are Human
OLY ARTS is a publication that is created by human hands, human editors and human writers. This is an important distinction for our publication, because it is becoming increasingly rare to find fully human creative activity.
As an arts publication, we reject synthetic generation tools, because they are trained on genuine human creative work, and they are designed to replace acts of human creativity. A creator’s chosen tool – words, paint, film, code, voice, or any of the many creative perspectives we bring to bear – allow us to bring new creations into existence. Machines can’t genuinely create — they can only extrude a simulacrum of real human art.
This recognition is the genesis of our work at OLY ARTS. As AI models become more sophisticated and synthetic material becomes commonplace, humans will become less adept at discriminating between the genuine and the generated. OLY ARTS recognizes the current need for certification, verification, and protection of human-created work.
Human Certification
To ensure that our work is protected, our team worked with the Human Intelligence™ Institute to properly certify our nonprofit and to ensure that all of our staff — writers, editors, illustrators and artists — can be properly recognized for their contributions. Our editor — Alec Clayton — became certified himself.
