Following his successful directorial debut at Olympia Little Theatre with “Who’s in Bed with the Butler” earlier this year, Jeff Kean returns to direct a charming comedy centered around four distinct Southern women. Seeking to break free from the monotony of their daily lives, these women come together by chance for an impromptu happy hour and decide it’s time to rekindle their zest for life.
Randa, a meticulous workaholic, grapples with an unexpected career setback. Dot, mourning her husband’s recent passing and their lost dreams of a perfect retirement, faces the challenge of starting fresh. Marlafaye, a lively Texan, arrives in Savannah after losing her unfaithful husband to a younger woman. Meanwhile, Jinx, a vibrant newcomer, offers her services as a much-needed life coach for these women, though she overlooks her own need for wise guidance.
Over six months filled with laughter, amusing adventures, and the occasional drink, these middle-aged women form deep connections and regain the confidence to kickstart their new lives. Together, they find enduring friendships and a renewed resolve to live in the moment. Above all, they realize it’s never too late to form old friendships anew. Raise a glass to these resilient Southern women and their bold approach to life as you say “Cheers!” to this heartwarming Jones, Hope, Wooten comedy!
