Monster Puppet Readings of Jonah Barnett’s Moss-Covered Claws

Up in the loft at Browsers Bookshop, genderqueer writer, filmmaker, and multi-media phenom Jonah Barnett will be performing a series of readings from their 2021 short-story collection “Moss-Covered Claws,” which mashes dreams and reality together in 11 macabre tales of speculative fiction: tales of anxiety-feeding demons, anti-fascists that travel dimensions, and the vengeful spirits of dead seabirds.

Local musicians Tri Âm Hoà Điệu and their accompanists will showcase a variety of zithers, lutes, and other stringed and percussive Vietnamese instruments. Tacoma Light Trail Lends Brightness to Winter Doldrums

Tacoma Light Trail, December 31 through January 12, brings much-needed illumination to the dark winter streets of Tacoma. The Light Trail will line the streets of Tacoma with light art installations, and the entire free event will be blessed by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians. Food trucks will be on hand to make this a perfect family-friendly way to ring in the new year.
