Capital Lakefair Guide

lakefair1Capital Lakefair celebrates 59 years of service to our community in 2016. Lakefair was created as an event to celebrate waterfront activities and to bring people to the downtown and lakefront core of the city, and the event has been a marvelous success, growing in size and attendance every year.

Today, Lakefair carries an annual budget of nearly $300,000 and approximately 200,000 people attend, while 10,000 to 12,000 watch the downtown Lakefair parade. The OLY ARTS Lakefair Guide includes an overview of the history of Lakefair and a Calendar of Lakefair activities.

The Capital Lakefair royal court is always a draw: chosen from local high schools, Lakefair princesses all have a 3.3 grade point average and a history of service in their community. The Lakefair Battle of the Bands also includes local high school students, competing on stage. Lakefair includes a variety of musical acts, all described on our Lakefair Music page. And don’t miss out on the Lakefair Classic Car Show!
